"The best way to get children interested in science is to get them building molecules as early as possible.

So I set out to make that happen."

Introducing The Blombos Project

Molecular Playtime

The Blombos Project is a free educational opportunity that inspires an early interest in chemistry using support skills in reading, math, comprehension, collaboration and critical thinking.

What Inspired the Name?

The Blombos Cave

Humankind’s first chemistry experiments happened 100,000 years ago in the Blombos Caves of South Africa. Our ancestors started testing a mineral rich in iron – ochre – in those caves. This place of early experimentation and discovery inspired the program’s name: The Blombos Project.
